New Year, New Attempt, New Goal

Every new year I go through the same procedure. Review the last year, feel bad about the goals I didn't achieve, carry some over, and create some new ones. I never used to set resolutions but somehow in the past five or six years I've tried it out. It's a learning curve. I typically set goals that are possible but not very probable. Take for instance the year I though I could hike 150 miles. It was possible, but I didn't take into account the weekends when there were other things I had to do, the days when there was no way I was going out in THAT kind of cold/heat/rain. So while I could have done it, I didn't.
Same with these blog posts. 2022 was supposed to be the year that I wrote 150 blog posts. That's three per week. That was possible until it wasn't. I wound up writing only a couple. There's a reason for that other than being busy or forgetting about it, which I'll explain in tomorrow's post.
So it's a new year (sort of) and once more I take the computer in my lap and try to put some thoughts out into the world that people can like, dislike, or say, "Well, maybe tomorrow will be better." There most likely won't be any rhyme or reason to the posts. That was a goal at one time, but I find it's more fun to share random thoughts that cross my mind than to make everything so serious and....useful.
We'll see where this goes and if I'm any better at creating a writing habit. As always, I'd love to hear what you think. Unless you think it stinks. Then you can just smile at me and move on.

I am in it for the long-haul. There has to be a lot of creative things going on in that head.
